Tarragona, Spain; March 2025 – At the beginning of this year, a dedicated group of H&T Presspart’s female team members from our site in Tarragona, Spain, facilitated a wide range of activities designed to enhance gender equality and inspire young girls to seize career opportunities in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) related professions.

As part of the Inspira STEAM initiative led by the University of Deusto, our team of eight served as mentors and coaches to students from two local schools involved in the program. The team leveraged their own professional experiences, acting as real-world role models, while also emphasizing key moments in history where women played a crucial role in groundbreaking scientific achievements.

“Through Inspira STEAM initiative, children gain insight into what STEAM professions truly involve, discover inspiring female role models, and recognize the stereotypes often associated with these fields,” said Paloma Herrera, Global Technology Director. “It has been a wonderful experience, helping young people open their minds, begin to see things differently, and start questioning assumptions they previously took for granted.”

“The aim of this initiative is to plant a small seed in the new generations, so that in the future, they don’t dismiss any career path based on what is commonly accepted by society according to gender,” commented Lopez Nuria, Process Engineer.
