Lower carbon MDIs and PFAS Compliant Surface Treatments

A key focus at DDL will be H&T Presspart’s support for the industry transition towards lower global warming potential (GWP) propellants for metered-dose inhalers (MDIs). Alongside our broad range of MDI components, we support customer development programmes involving both HFA-152a and HFO-1234ze, with a wide range of services designed to support customers from development through to clinical manufacture, including analytical testing and sample batch filling.

Alongside our lower-GWP propellant services, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about our PFAS-compliant surface treatments and coatings for MDIs. These solutions provide customers with additional support as the industry transitions towards lower-GWP propellant technologies and lower-carbon metered-dose inhalers.

Sunriser® DPI technology

H&T Presspart will also be showcasing Sunriser®, our high-performance dry powder inhaler (DPI) technology. Sunriser® is designed to deliver dry powder formulations with fine particle fractions higher than those currently achieved by marketed devices, offering opportunities for the development of high-performance DPI products.

The technology is suitable for a range of formulation approaches, including classic carrier-based formulations and spray-dried particles alone, providing flexibility for different formulation strategies.

Research involving Sunriser® will also be presented at DDL by Mirjam Kobler, H&T Presspart Business Development Manager and Macquarie University. The poster, titled “Evaluation of Aerosolisation Performance of a Model Protein Delivered via the Sunriser® DPI”, evaluates the aerosolisation performance of a model protein delivered using the Sunriser® DPI platform.
