Reusable transport packaging pilot

H&T Presspart pilots reusable transport packaging to advance Circular Economy.

H&T Presspart has launched a pilot to introduce reusable transport packaging for metered‑dose inhaler (MDI) cans on the supply route between our UK and Germany sites. The initiative sits within our Circular Economy action field, where we focus on closing material loops to minimise resource use and waste.

Currently single‑use cardboard boxes are used but the pilot replaces these with durable, returnable containers designed for multiple cycles. Alongside operational testing, we are assessing waste reduction, lifecycle CO₂ impact and handling efficiency to build a clear picture of the environmental and operational benefits.

This work directly supports our target to achieve 100% of packaging to be recyclable or reusable across our organisation. By reducing packaging waste and streamlining the logistics loop, the pilot aims to lower emissions across the supply chain while maintaining the high standards of safety and quality required for pharmaceutical components.

The introduction of reusable transport packaging is an essential step in our sustainability strategy. To learn more about our sustainability approach and action fields, visit our sustainability page!
